The AthletesFor campaigns have closed. We hope you will join us in supporting our favorite charities and causes next year, but in the meantime, should you wish to support Unbound, please click here.
I’m raising money for Unbound, a nonprofit sponsorship organization. I chose Unbound because it is one of the only programs that sponsors not only children, but also elders in impoverished countries.
For the last three years, my husband Chris and I have sponsored Brayan, a young boy from Peru. Throughout the year we exchange letters with Brayan’s mother and its heartwarming to hear what a difference Unbound has made in their home and community.
Unbound is an international nonprofit founded by lay Catholics grounded in the Gospel call to put the needs of the marginalized and vulnerable first. We build relationships of mutual respect and support that bridge cultural, religious and economic divides. We invite all people of goodwill to join us.
Working side by side with people of diverse faith traditions in 18 countries, we bring people together to challenge poverty in new and innovative ways.
We inspire confidence and offer opportunity and encouragement to children and families living on the margins of society. We create practical and trustworthy means for people to help others and nurture human connections that uplift us all.
Amanda Rego is an elite middle distance runner with Colorado Springs Track Club Elite.
Athletes For is an annual giving campaign hosted by top runners, jumpers, and throwers training in the USA.
HOW IT WORKS:
Athletes select their favorite charity and host a two week fundraising campaign. All campaigns will run through Giving Tuesday.
SUPPORTING CAUSES AND DREAMS
Athletes For has a dual purpose of supporting favorite causes and favorite athletes. All funds raised will support a worthy cause (as per the athlete's selection) with a small portion going toward funding athlete grants supporting their Olympic journey.
